Nestled in the heart of Durham, Farmside Kitchen is a haven for those seeking fresh, wholesome American cuisine. The restaurant specializes in customizable farm bowls, offering an alternative to processed chain food found elsewhere in the area. With an inviting atmosphere and a focus on locally sourced ingredients, Farmside Kitchen has quickly become a beloved dining destination.

Step inside and you’ll immediately feel the buzz of an energetic lunch crowd. Despite the bustling environment, the efficient service ensures that your meal is prepared quickly, so you can spend more time savoring your food. One of the stars on the menu is “The Rancher” farm bowl, a delightful concoction of signature grilled chicken paired with warm seasoned black beans and fire-roasted corn, all topped off with creamy feta cheese and fresh avocado. Drizzled with a choice of cilantro lime or spicy jalapeño dressing and a hint of honey sriracha, it's a flavorful journey that captures the spirit of the Southwest for just $11.75.

If you're looking for comfort, “The Farmside” bowl is a must-try, offering the charm of home-cooked goodness in each bite. The option to build your own salad or bowl lets you get creative, as you choose from a variety of fresh toppings and dressings, just like customer 'Keepsake Memories' experienced. Though the restaurant can get quite busy during lunch hours, patrons appreciate the speed at which their meals are served, ensuring no one is kept waiting too long.

Customers continuously rave about the quality and freshness of the ingredients. For instance, 'Cindy Puetzer' highlights the delicious homemade dressings, while 'Kirky1221' celebrates the bowl he built filled with vibrant greens and savory grilled chicken. The atmosphere is slightly amplified by music, which can get loud at times, yet it contributes to a lively, upbeat dining experience that makes every meal here feel special.

Farmside Kitchen also caters to a variety of dietary needs, making it particularly appealing in an area often limited in healthy options. Vegetarians and gluten-free diners will find plenty to enjoy, as noted by 'Keesha Landis, Ed. D,' who praised the full flavor of her kale and quinoa bowl with chili lime tofu. Plus, the unique drink offerings, like Maine Root soda, add an extra touch of enjoyment to your mealtime.

Located conveniently near the crossroads of Hwy 55 and I40, Farmside Kitchen is not just a place to grab a quick bite but a community dining experience that emphasizes nutritious, locally sourced food. Whether you're coming in for a post-workout meal or a catch-up with friends, this gem promises to delight and inspire your taste buds.

Prepare to leave Farmside Kitchen feeling revitalized and satisfied, eager to return to explore new combinations and flavors. So why not round up your family or friends and discover your own perfect bowl at this flourishing Durham favorite?

Stopped in here to give it a try for lunch. Was greatly surprised at how good the salad bowl was. I was able to build my own and get 6 toppings. The setup is like a buffet line and warning it's very busy at lunchtime. But they move you in and out quickly! Cons - customer service is not the best! It's very busy, so their focus is on getting bowls done quickly, with no social connection. The restaurant is filled from wall to wall, so be prepared for that depending on what time you go. Prices are a bit high. It cost me over $15 for a salad because I added avocado. The avocado is a $3 uncharge for a half avocado. Overall, it's a fun place to try and make your own creation. But there wasn't a wow factor. You can get a good salad at First Watch or Panera, too. Would I eat there again? Yes, but mainly because of the convenience and variety of combinations I can do.

Stopped into Farmside after picking my daughter up from the airport and was pleasantly surprised by the fresh food and big portions! There’s so many chains in the area and a lot of them don’t offer healthier or vegetarian options, so it’s certainly a great spot in the area. With both did build your own farm bowls and they were great. The inside was a bit loud due to the music, but otherwise great.

Built my own salad; romaine and baby arugula. Cucumbers, red onion, carrots, Parmesan, goat cheese, and the signature grilled chicken. Cilantro lime dressing. The diet cola to drink. They have other options like flavored lemonades and teas. It was excellent quality and they are supplied by local farms. Very decent prices. A great business to support, can’t recommend enough.

Farmside Kitchen serves bowls . You can design your own , or choose from their menu. Everything was fresh and the salad dressings were yummy. There are vegetarian options and gluten free. The drinks were also good . I loved that they carry Maine root root beer and blueberry soda. It was a nice day ,so we ate outside.

Found this lil gem off Hwy 55 near me and I-40 for work and it’s really good. I always get The GOAT with no cheese, extra tofu and avocado especially after a workout Starting even getting 2 bowls too. Love this place fr

The food is absolutely fresh and tastes amazing. I will definitely make another trip—as I live in a food desert with limited healthy options. I got the kale & quinoa and added the chili lime tofu for extra protein

I ordered a BYOB from DoorDash. This was my first time trying Farmside but have been wanting to try it for a while. I ordered double protein. I loved all the customizations provided and feel very good that I can eat according to my specific diet without compromising on flavors. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I do not like dressing, so without dressing, this is super delicious. Edit: I ordered this 3 times and it was great every time! Here is what I ordered: Black beans, lentils, double grilled chicken, strawberries and apples, kale and romaine, pecans, pumpkin seeds, carrots, Parmesan
